Palo Alto

We get to spend a few months in Palo Alto, California this summer as Tayler has an internship at a law firm, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. We're over half way through, and we've loved being here.

Some things we love about Palo Alto:
  • The weather. Almost always perfect!
  • It's absolutely gorgeous. There is such a variety of beautiful plants, with gorgeous roses, hydrangeas, and vines everywhere.

  • Everyone here has been so friendly, and it feels so safe. We love that although it's a center for the tech industry, it feels like a small town.
  • We're close to family! Kesler and Jane (Tayler's brother & his wife) are at Stanford.
  • There are so many fun things to do and fun day trips available. San Francisco & beaches are a short drive away!
  • We get to shop at Trader Joe's
  • The Stanford Theater, and old historic theater that plays old classics on the original film. There's an organ performance before and after, and they play movies like My Fair Lady and Arsenic and Old Lace. :) Cary Grant style. Be still my heart.

  • Our cozy studio apartment
  • The movie theater that has recliner chairs
Some of the fun things we've done here so far:
  • Tay visited Napa for a work trip
  • I visited Half Moon Bay with Kesler and Jane (while Tay was on his work trip)

  • We explored Santa Cruz with Kesler & Jane

Don't mind my hair...it was windy!

  • We went to a Giants game with friends & saw a splash hit!

  • Tayler has visited San Francisco a few times for work
  • My family visited and we got to show them around Palo Alto
    Stanford's cathedral
    • One of our favorite stops with my family was at Google's campus. We loved riding their bikes around!

    • I visited San Francisco with my family: Exploratorium, Peir 39, Fisherman's Warf, Lombard Street, and Alcatraz

  • Tried some fun restaurants :) We love Happy Donuts! Tayler took me on a lunch date to Sweetgreens this week & I tried tofu...
  • We visited Redwood City for their 4th of July parade and downtown celebration. The parade was a little slow, and no one told them they were supposed to throw out candy...but the UC Davis band was hilarious and so fun to watch.
